いよいよ18日間のアメリカ旅行が始まった。 Finally my 18 day America trip had started.  日曜礼拝の後、空港へ。 前日にネットでセルフチェックインしたけど、 キオスクとかゆー機械で荷物のタグとかを出すのはどーやんだろ？ と、ちょっと不安だったけどユナイテッド航空の人が 目にもとまらぬ速さでピロロ～ンと出してくれて 今までで最短時間で （空港着いてから15分ぐらい） セキュリティーも出国審査も　ちゃちゃっと通り抜けて UAのラウンジに到着！ UAの友達のお陰でラウンジ初体験😆 飛行機乗る前にこんなゆったりできる世界もあるんやね～ I checked in and passed the security and the immigration  in record time at Narita Airport. Thanks to my UA employee friend!  I enjoyed a luxury time at UA lounge before boarding. 飛行機に乗って約10時間 ロサンゼルス国際空港（LAX)に到着！ After a 10 hour flight, I arrived at LAX. この日の最大のタスクは、 他の便で来るツアーグループに合流すること。 The biggest task of the day was joining the tour group.   なんせLAXはターミナルが9個もある巨大空港。 無事会えるのか～～ UAの到着したターミナル7から トムブラッドレー国際線ターミナルへは 「コネクション1」というバスに乗ればいいはずなんだけど、 そんなバス全然来ない・・・ とりあえず目の前に停まったバスの超無愛想な運転手さんに 「このバス、トムブラッドレーに行く？」と聞くと、 うんざりしたようにうなずいたので、とりあえず乗り込んだ。 日本ではありえない無愛想さにちょっとひるみながらも 一度「トム・ブラッドレー？」と...

日曜日は たいてい家族と教会へ 教会の近くは畑が広がっていて 千葉県なんだけど、ちょっと見、北海道😅  Most Sundays, my family goes to church.  Our church is in the suburbs of Chiba prefecture.  There are a lot of fields nearby.  お天気がよかったので 教会の近くの森で車を降りて、教会までちょっとウォーキング （車は主人が教会まで運転していきましたよ） 　 It was a beautiful day,  so I got out of the car in the wood  and walked to the church for about 5 to 10 minutes. (Don't worry, I didn't left the car in the wood. I asked my husband to drive straight to the church as I take a walk.) 北海道じゃないです・・・😅  After you go through the wood, you can see a vast field.  It looks like some place in Hokkaido.  森を抜けたところにある畑の隅に なぜか　いきなり彫刻😳 Strangely enough, there are two statues on the field.  ここにももう一人 いつも車で通るたびに気になってたので 今日は近くでじっくり拝見。 これは…かわいいのかな？ しかも、畑作業にじゃまなのか 時々場所が移動してるんです… シュールだわ〜  These statures always have caught my attention every time I pass,  ...

夏前に織り始めた 涼しげな色のさをり織り・・・  I finally finished this Saori-ori project which took me about half a year. この夏のあまりの暑さにくじけ、 秋になってから再開。 かれこれ半年かけて織りあがった一枚。  I started to hand-weave it before summer. この季節に着るには ちょっと寒そうな色合いかな～ 仕立ては春までおあずけだなぁ でもただ しまっとくのも　もったいないし。。。  I don't usually wear green clothes but I made some green accessories with UV resin,  so I decided to make one to match them.  I chose fresh green and blue for the hot summer season.  However, the summer was too hot to hand weaving this year and I couldn't continue it. なに気に壁にかけてみたら あれ、タペストリー？ 色も ちょうどグリーンでクリスマスカラーだし(笑）  That's why I finished it just recently. I found a good use for it for Christmas.  プラ板で作った ポインセチアのピンバッチを アクセントに留めたら、 なんかちょっといい感じの クリスマスタペストリーになったみたい  I hanged it as a tapestry and decorated it with my handmade accessories.

メリークリスマス！ ついこの間ツリーをしまった気がするのに、もう1年経ったんですね～ 箱いっぱいのクリスマスオーナメントを飾るのは　結構時間かかるので 今年はもういいかな～と、思いつつもやっぱり飾りました Every year, I decorate my house with a Christmas tree  and other Christmas decorations.  Since we have a big boxful of decorations, it took me hours to put up all of them.  Honestly, I told myself this year  "Why bother? I'm the only one who cares about Christmas decorations these days."  どの飾りにもいろんな思い出がつまってます  But I have good memories of all of them.  この茶色のもみの木やローソクは、25年ぐらい前、 まだ小さかった長男と主人と一緒に 義母の家のこたつに入って 木の粉の粘土で作ったもの。 About 25 years ago, my husband, elder son and I made these clay ornaments at my late mother in law's house. このクリスマスツリーは31年前、 結婚してはじめてのクリスマスに買ったもの。 その頃遊びに行ったアメリカ人宣教師のお家で 背丈よりも高いツリーを飾ってるのを初めて見て 「いいな～。家にもほしいな～」 と主人にねだって、わざわざ浅草橋まで行って買って 重い思いをして電車で持って帰ってきたんでした。 当時はまだそんな背の高いツリーは あんまり売ってなかったんですね このツリーの前で家族写真を撮るのが 我が家のクリスマスの伝統行事 だいぶ葉っぱが寂しくなっちゃったけど...
